Here are the measurements:
Top to Tail (back of neck to bottom, inc collar) - 27 inches
Shoulder to shoulder across back - 18.5 inches
Shoulder to cuff - 21.5 inches
Armpit to cuff - 15.5 inches
Chest (measured flat on outside) - 20.5 inches
Suggested size - 36-38 inches
The maker's label shows the size as 40 inches but as with many items of vintage clothing its quite small for its labelled size in comparison with modern sizing. Please read the measurements carefully to check if it will fit you before you buy but we think it will fit a chest of around 36-38 inches, depending on the position in which the zip is fastened.
There is built in light padding at the shoulders & back of the waist.
There are 3 zipped slanted pockets at the front and another pocket with zip near the top of the right sleeve, plus a leather trimmed inside pocket with loop & button fastening.
Adjustable fit (main zip fastens in either of 2 different positions).
There is a strap with 2 stud fasteners at the neck, with a further stud at the waist.
There is a short attachment zip at the back of the waist (with which to attach the jacket to trousers).
All of the zips are good quality sturdy YKK zips and all work well, as do the studs.
The jacket has a quilted red nylon lining.
Very good condition for a jacket of this age.
